the Alchemical Visions Tarot review

Wooooo…… So much to say about this deck and I am NOT smart enough to say it! lol

See… I’m a simple Squirrel! So some things are just WAY too far over my head. But that’s OK! Not everything I have to understand 100% in order to appreciate it!

…that’s my exact feelings about the Alchemical Visions Tarot by Arthur Taussig PHD.

Yes…..PHD…. so put your learning caps on boys and squirrels it might be a bumpy ride!

As you can see pictured above the deck comes in a really nice durable box with magnetic closure. Complete with a 190 page guide book in black and white that has 2 page descriptors of what the heck is going on in the cards! lol…which is GREAT! (cuz I needed it) You’ll see what I’m talking about later…

The cards are OBNOXIOUSLY large and just extra…. like me 🙂 lol

Printed on a good card stock with a semi-gloss finish.

I WILL say, right off the bat… between the size and content of the cards this deck definitely comes across to me to primarily be used as a card-a-day draw.

  1. It is SO big, even with my big hands, I’m not sure how the heck you would even begin to shuffle these to use in a reading
  2. Each of the cards has SO MUCH DETAIL in every card, your eyes go EVERYWHERE taking in all the little details! It just seems like something you would want to sit with for an extended period of time to be able to FULLY appreciate what’s in the card!
  3. And also reference the book and understanding a lot of the symbolism that’s within the cards so you can have a better understanding!

The Alchemical Visions Tarot brings the promise of the Magnum Opus—the Great Work—to travelers on the modern path. Combining Jungian psychology and ancient alchemy, mysticism, and mythology, world-renowned artist Arthur Taussig has created a powerful tool for self-transformation—a Tarot for personal alchemy and psychic health. These complex and beautiful cards are rich with multiple layers of symbolism and are meant to be studied one by one so that each card becomes a key to unlocking the subconscious mind. Each card is an important stop on the Traveler’s journey from an unconscious state to one of integrated conscious wholeness.

Arthur Taussig PHD.

As you can see the CRAZY amount of detail and information that is stored within every card is just NUTS!!!! (see what i did there)

It is so beautiful and overwhelming at the same time lol

I love it. I don’t have this deck, so I keep looking at flip throughs on Youtube and Pinterest. I think the key to this deck is not feeling intimidated, but looking in phases. For example, what’s Dr Taussig put in color. That’s where you focus first. In the Magician, i‘s e humanoid figure the ouroboros and the manifested flowers that are in color. Everything else is B/W.
